MAXI AVALANCHE 2011
The fourth edition of the Maxi Avalanche in Åre is over. Bigger, better and cooler than ever. 150 riders, of which nearly half the starting field were international riders give a very special feeling for this event.
Winners of this year's edition is Franck Parolin, France. Franck Parolin also won in 2010 and he consolidates the French domination here in Åre. There have been a French champions all four times the race has been in Åre.
Also in second placewe have a Frenchman, Nicolas Lau while German Tobias Woggon finished third.
Our own Herman Ölund who competes for the local club Åre bergscyklister came in fourth, while another Frenchman, Guillaume Farin came in fifth place.

Also the ladies had a French victory by Morgane Such. In second place were Myriam Saugy from Switzerland and Laura Janhunen from Finland finished third. Title defender and the local rider Hanna Oleträ finished fourth and Kristin Svensson from Falun/Sweden finished fifth.

Congratulations to all medalists! But I would also like to thank all other participants who fight their way down this very special race. Without you there will be no real Maxi Avalanche race! I would also like to thank everyone from the media, all staff and others who worked hard, not only this weekend to make this possible.
